Hey TINY Artists! All of the TINY canvases have been claimed for 2023, so this sign-up sheet is closed. If you really really really want to participate, please email us at heythere@swellartgallery.com and we will try to figure out a way to help you get a canvas. Thanks to all of you who have signed up!

The canvases are due back to us on Tuesday, October 3, and the TINY Art Show is going to be Wednesday, October 18. More details on that to follow. Keep yer eyes peeled for info!

TINY is an annual art exhibition & sale that raises money for the Wayne Fulcher Art Scholarship, which was founded by Indian Town Gallery/The Swell Art Gallery, endowed by The Outer Banks Community Foundation, and is dispersed to Cape Hatteras Secondary School graduating students with the assistance of the Dare County Arts Council. It was named in honor and memory of our friend, Wayne Fulcher.

It's called TINY because the show features 5"x5" canvases (provided by us to anyone who would like to participate) with donated art work on them. Each sells for $20, and all profits go to the scholarship.

Each year, we distribute 200 - 300 blank canvases to professional and amateur artists, hobbyists, crafters, students, community members, to people who have been doing art for a long time and those who are new to it. We distribute them to folks of all ages and skill levels - anyone who would like to take part! The majority of participants come from right here on Hatteras Island, but as far away as Oregon, Florida & Maine. Four different high schools have participated over the last 3 years.

All of these people return the canvases to us with their art work on them, and then we hang all the pieces for an art show where the work is on display and sold. It's amazing fun for the artists and show attendees alike.

ANYONE WHO ENJOYS MAKING ART CAN BE A PART OF THIS SHOW! :)
If you'd like to be a part of the show by contributing your artwork, please sign up using the “Sign Up” button above and we'll be happy to mail you a canvas (or more than one). On Hatteras Island, they can be picked up in our shop, Swell Art : Gallery + Gifts and on Ocracoke, they can be picked up at The Village Craftsmen. They are due back to us by October 3 this year, and the show will be October 18.

If you'd like to attend the show, please keep an eye out on our Instagram (maybe) or Facebook page (DEFINITELY). We'll post more show details in the coming weeks leading up to the show, plus images of the artwork as it starts being returned to us.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
